Miss Nikki

MISS NIKKI started with The Baton & Dance Company in 2001 by taking a dance class. After watching older girls twirl she decided she wanted to give twirling a try. For the first few years baton was a fun activity to participate in. In 2005 she traveled to Edmonton to compete in the open competition at Canadians where she placed 3rd in 2-Baton. Shortly after that her passion for the sport began to show along with her strength of twirling multiple batons. In 2007 she decided to try 3-Baton and that year at Canadians in Regina she performed a memorable no-drop 2-Baton and placed 1st as well as 2nd place for 3-Baton. She was inspired and spent the rest of the summer practicing. In 2008 she competed in freestyle for the first time and was thrilled to place 1st at Provincials. That same year she also traveled to Moncton, New Brunswick for Canadians where she placed 3rd in 2-Baton and 2nd in 3-Baton. 2009 saw her compete at Canadians in Edmonton picking up 1st place in 3-Baton and 1st place in Pair along with her partner Delaney Sarro. 2011 was a busy year as she traveled to Winnipeg for Canadians where she placed 2nd in 3-Baton. She also had the opportunity to compete in the International Cup Qualifier placing 6th in 2-Baton and 7th in 3-Baton at her first International Competition in Jacksonville, Florida. After 11 years with The Baton & Dance Company and much success in her twirling career, Nikki decided 2013 would be her last year as an athlete. She is now a vibrant part of our staff - passing along her experience and skills to our young upcoming students!
